My Ankara Love!!!! ST Colours

I have soooooooooo many outstanding posts lined up for you guys. I have just been so swamped with work and not really been in writing mode. I will put up the posts soon though, i have managed to clear up my schedule a bit and i have drafted a couple of the posts. I promised Stephanie i would do a post on her website and i hate faltering on my promises so here goes.

I remember Stephanie from uni days because of her smile, it would just light up a room whenever she came in, when she reached out to me via mail to compliment my blog i was happy (i love any feedback i get as regards my blog). and then i went to her website and realized it was the lady with the beautiful smile and she apparently infected all her lovely models.

I am a lover of all things Ankara and colorful, although my wardrobe doesn't testify enough of my love, i think i have the right pieces to express my love to an extent. You can check out my pinterest board http://pinterest.com/jemimahnaa/all-things-ankara-similar/ which testifies my love to an extent.

Oya straight to the matter, Stephanie's website(For Afrochics who want to express who they are) i totally love it!! Why? Not just 'cos of stephanie's smile o...lol..'cos she has some unique pieces. She makes African inspired Tees/Accessories/Bags/Ipad cases/Clutch purses

My writeup
"Natural Nigerian Tosin lives in Wuse 2,Abuja. Read more about her big chop in 2009 on her blog: http://tamikoadyms.blogspot.com/2009/08/my-bc.html

"My natural hair journey began about 4 years ago when I had the intention of locking my hair.I let the hair get very due and after a while I did the big chop.I loved the new texture and curls of my hair and enjoyed taking care of it myself so much so that I let go of the idea of getting dreads.I learnt a lot from youtube,www.bglhonline.com (at that time it was still a blog) and many other sites. My research made me more conscious of ingredients in the products I use and their effects on my hair and dis made me more curious about the ingredients in other products I used for my body. It made me do a lot more research and eventually make a decision to change to a healthy living lifestyle. I decided to go all natural and live healthy, I became more aware and choosy of the products I use and d food I consume and I can truly say I'm a better person all around thanks to these changes. Friends who laughed and were confused about me going natural have now joined me. Being natural and living healthy is a lifestyle not a trend. I'm glowing, energetic and can't remember when last I was ill.I love my thick, full, nappy, black hair people r always dying to touch!"

Girls Night Out! (Friend Therapy)

I have not had a proper weekend to myself to jst chill out in the past month! if i wasn't travelling, i was actively occupied with work or something else! I decided to take the bull by the horns and give myself a break before i break down. I buzzed my girlfriends on Thursday evening to find out their plans for the weekend,. I had a friend who came into town and was gonna be spending Friday night at my place, i love sleepovers! (slumber parties or whatever u wanna call it), you can blame it on the active lil child dwelling happily inside me :D Anyways they were all less busy this weekend so we planned a karoke outing for Saturday and Sunday night, i know right?! you're thinking these gals must really love singing o and must have angelic voices..lol!we actually don't o and our voices are far from angelic although not terrible either.
This was definitely the therapy i needed to get outta my feeling old corner and it seems i was not the only one who had drifted into this corner. One thing i've learnt on life is not to abandon your friends when you are in a relationship or feeling deserted, reach out to them 'cos they may need you and vice versa.
Na so 3 of us comot on Saturday night to Zanzibar (Maitama Amusement Park) after we rendezvoused at my place, chatted a lil and caught up on what had been happening in our individual lives, we had loads of fun as we picked songs as we sang our hearts away trying to mimic the artists as best as we could, although some of the effort resulted in banshee-like shrills, coughs and at some point silence from our inability to meet up the high notes of the songs. It was even more fun 'cos a group of guys that sat opposite us decided to be our back up singers and we helped them out also, sadly our scores did not rise above 74points (i think). Thriller by Micheal Jackson was he song that made the night! We left there around 11pm (we really had no idea time had sped past like that), got sharwama and all headed for round 2 of sleepover at my place (which consisted of jisting till we dozed off).
and then there were 5 awaiting 1. b4 we went wild ;)
Sunday night-we called up our newly married friend if she could make it out with us and luckily she could!!!it was even way more fun as it was 6 of us this time around. We met up @Sofa Lounge (Wuse 2), settled in ordered our drinks, picked our songs as we sang along with others who had already picked their song. Bottom belle by Omawumi made the night!! (even though they fought me when i was picking it o!)  I had a swell swell time, words can't even describe it, made me miss my bestie and i can't wait to hang out with her (though we are separated by oceans, where there is a will, there's a way, a visa and a plane :D). We left for our seperate homes around 11:00pm and i have to say i was refreshed, had a new glow and ready for the week.

Get Busy (funny 'cos we could not keep up with the lyrics) and many others i can't even remember

We should all try friend therapy every now and again! Good ol' fashioned fun. Good for the soul. I'l be going for a wedding in Lagos this weekend so i'll get anoda dose of fun, catch up with friend and fam over there and go to the beach!!!(i have missed that!) and maybe i'll be able to squeeze in going to Cold Stone to appease my sweet tooth. I'll keep y'all posted.
