Road to Yesterday Premiere

Award winning Director Ishaya Bako FINALLY had his feature film debut  with 'Road to Yesterday'!
I'm so excited for him (he is my good friend, yes lemme famz biko. lol), it has been a long time coming and definitely long-awaited. I'm thrilled that he got to work with such a talented cast {Genevieve Nnaji, Majid Michel, Chigurl, Oris Erhuero} in his first movie. I believe he will only do better and win more awards going forward.
Check here and here to get a bit more acquainted with Ishaya Bako and his new movie.

Brief on Ishaya
Ishaya attended the London Film School where he learnt about film-making and then went ahead to script and direct his AMAA award winning short film 'Braids On A Bald Head' which also got a lot of international recognition and film festival selections. He is a Director & Screenwriter and has been a film-maker for about 5 years accompanied with nominations, awards and international recognitions & selections. He has done quite a number of Short films {Braids on a Bald Head, Henna, EnitanDream, Poetic, Nemesis, Aviation Man, To Serve with all our Strength, to name a few} and Documentaries {Fuelling Poverty which won Best Documentary at the AMAA (Africa Movie Academy Awards) 2013; Silent Tears (timely) which won Audience Choice Award at the AFRIFF (African International Film Festival) 2015}

'Road to Yesterday' Movie Première
This was my 1st ever movie première and i must say i thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It held on the 5th floor of Silverbird Cinemas, Abuja. I got there a bit late, i was given the wrist band to gain access into the restricted area and at the time interviews and photo sessions were ongoing. They were different stands for small bites, sweets & desserts and drinks in the area, my fave was the Andies Candies corner (you all know by now that i have a sweettooth). There was also a segment of the area with sponsor banners as backdrops for interviews and photos while the rest of the area was set up with cocktail tables and several guests, media persons, journalists and photographers stood around chatting, nibbling and drinking and happily awaiting the screening. I happily got to take pictures with Ishaya and Genevieve, trust my phone to not properly focus at such a crucial moment *rme.
Screening Time! We were ushered into the viewing room and served bottled drinks, there was  a pack of popcorn on all the seats and i picked out a seat close the top for the perfect view. I enjoyed the movie and afterwards there was a question and comments section with the Director, Executive Producer, Actresses and Screenwriter. There was some constructive criticism and comments but everyone that spoke admitted that they loved the movie and for it being Ishaya's first, he did a great job. We left the viewing room happy, chatting and socialising, etc. definitely time well spent and i'm glad to have had this experience.
